Crowns and bridges and I have to say implants also. When you’re missing a tooth in a smile, it has an effect on one, how people look at you but also how the person that’s missing a tooth feels. And so, you know, often I’ve had, in the last two weeks I’ve had gentlemen that have told me, “I don’t smile” and taking their clinical photos is difficult because they won’t smile. And we get them into having teeth and filling those spaces or lengthening their teeth. And all of a sudden their wives are saying, “I can see your teeth” and they come back to the office and they’re smiling. So it’s amazing what we can do for somebody’s persona and their affect by just by giving them, filling in those spaces.
Also it’s important to understand that healthy teeth contribute to a healthy system. You have to have healthy gums. If you have inflammation in your gums, then that has a negative impact on your whole system, it has a direct correlation with heart disease. So it’s important to keep everything nice and healthy and stable. So we’re looking at the whole system, the biologic system, the body and their health, and we’re also looking at the mind and the psychological system and the happiness that people can have when they have their teeth and they have their smile.
What we have in our office and not every office has this but what we do have in our office is an in-house lab so we can take a digital picture of your tooth. Once we get the old filling and decay out or broken tooth, we take it a digital picture, we build up what it’s going to look like, we mill it in our office. It’s the same that we would get if we sent it to a commercial lab like other offices that don’t have this. It’s the same material, it’s the same thing but in two hours you get it and you leave. There’s no plastic temporary that you walk around with for three weeks waiting for your your crown to come in.

Enjoy Excellent Oral Function Again With a Crown or Bridge
Crowns and bridges are fundamental to dentistry when it comes to repairing smiles and restoring bites. We use them every day to help our patients achieve and maintain their best smiles. Below are some of the tooth repair and replacement options you have using a crown or bridge:
- Single Crown – Using our CEREC system, we can make your crown right here in our office while you wait. You won’t need a second appointment to have it placed.
- Fixed Bridge – A standard bridge will fill the gap in your smile with one or more artificial teeth anchored by crowns on either end.
- Implant-Supported Crown – We’ll place a dental implant where your tooth is missing, then top it with a lifelike crown to give you back a complete smile.
- Implant-Supported Bridge – This type of bridge is similar to a traditional bridge, except that it is secured using at least two dental implants.
- Inlays and Onlays – Usually made from porcelain, these custom restorations cover either the top of a damaged tooth (inlay) or the top and sides (onlay).
Call Lopez Dental Associates today at 580-246-4488 to see how Lawton dental crowns and bridges can help you. You can also make an appointment online.
The average dental crown or bridge will last for approximately five to seven years. However, your restoration may give you great performance for 10 years or longer if you maintain good oral hygiene and avoid eating foods that compromise it. We’ll be happy to provide instructions on keeping your crown or bridge fully functional for as long as possible.
Your individual cost for crowns and bridges can vary widely, depending on your needs and treatment plan. Placing a single crown is less expensive than filling in a smile gap with a bridge consisting of several replacement teeth. Our team will be happy to cover all the details in full during a consultation and answer any questions you have about your treatment.
Many dental insurance plans will cover at least a portion of your treatment using crowns and bridges, usually half. We recommend you check with your insurance carrier to determine exactly what is and isn’t covered before you begin treatment. That way you’ll know your exact cost, and there won’t be any surprises in store.
